The UNPavement with Jeremy P. McGhee
Drop IN: Bloody Couloir Official Teaser
Follow Jeremy McGhee as he prepares to be the first paraplegic to climb and descend a major backcountry ski route on his own power (Bloody Couloir, near Mammoth Mountain, CA). This teaser focuses on the training involved to accomplish such a feat.
Jeremy first fell in love with Winter Mammoth Lakes, but as the Summer season came around he realized how many opportunities for adventure awaited him in the warm months. Not only does Jeremy shred Mammoth Mountain on his sit ski in the Winter, but he knows how to push the limits in the park and backcountry on his mountain bike.
Mountain Biking, it's about heart not hype. The heart is our engine, it keeps us motivated, it pushes our limits, it fuels our muscles, it's the passion for the love of adventuring. 2XU compression sleeves and cycling gear helps support the heart and shapes how we recover, train and perform.
A quick GoPro teaser edit from Drop In: Episode 1 - Bloody Couloir. Gives you an idea of what it feels like to climb a 2,000' couloir with only the power generated from your arms. Jeremy became the first paraplegic to climb and ski a major backcountry peak on his own power in June 2012.
It's early season at Mammoth Mountain which often means renewed encounters with seldom seen friends. In this video we have the pleasure of checking in with (and trying to keep up with) local sit-ski paraplegic athlete Jeremy McGhee as he tackles the slopes for the first time in 18 months.
Jay and Jeff Grygera take a break from the normal short board/long board shaping grind to make a custom sit down wave ski for long time friend and Iron Cross family member Jeremy McGhee. Check out the the process and and the guys surprising Jeremy with his new board at their Iron Cross shop in Cardiff by the Sea.
